As New Balance continues to take the minds and hearts of sneakerheads by storm, a wide range of collaborations have been introduced that showcase the diversity of the label. From designer Salehe Bembury's Yurt 574 to Aime Leon Dore's 550 and Joe Freshgoods' 990v3 (and recently teased 9060 and 2002R), New Balance's transition from dad exclusive to cool kid kicks has seen hit after hit of collaborative gold.

The 2002R silhouette has pushed the label forward in more ways than one. Following its successful "Protection Pack" series, New Balance continues to give the model a new life with a helping hand from Los Angeles-based artist and designer Bryant Giles.
Giles is known for his playful interpretations that blend art and fashion into one fun little bubble. He holds notable collaborations under his belt with the likes of Nike and Hermés and now joins forces with New Balance, covering the 2002R with his wacky illustrations.

The shoe features an olive green canvas upper with small colorful facial illustrations embroidered throughout. "What Now?" text is seen at the rear and references his recent presentation at Miami Art Basel. New Balance logos are delivered as velcro patches while illustrative insoles come accompanied by a white and yellow midsole and grey outsole.
