Shawn Stüssy has announced his return to the streetwear game, reintroducing yet another eponymous brand that’s slated to return in the near future.

Mr. Stüssy is best known for his namesake label Stüssy, the surf-turned-skate-turned-streetwear brainchild he founded in the early 1980s.

After moving on from the company in 1996, Shawn has mostly kept to himself barring lavish excursions with Dior and a previously bygone, self-titled project that debuted in 2008 dubbed “S-Double”.
S-Double was an opportunity for Shawn Stüssy to pick up where he left off, by scratching the itch he felt was created by Stüssy’s constant rehashing of old motifs.
A look back at some of the brand’s collaborations and in-house releases show a clear fondness towards the like of menswear staples popular in Japan - i.e. selvedge denim, loopwheel sweats and the odd pair of casual, welted footwear.
The official announcement comes from a billboard outside of Globe Skateboards’ headquarters in Australia. Scribbled in his signature scrawly penmanship, Shawn shares he will be working with Globe founders Stephen, Peter and Matt Hill on the revitalisation of S-Double.

It is currently unclear when we can expect the brand to return.
