Contrary to common belief, Supreme’s footwear collaborations are not exclusive to unconventional Nike silhouettes or reworks of classic Dr. Martens; in fact, the NYC streetwear hall of famer has long dabbled in the rubber soled realms of Timberland, sporadically revisiting relations with the American boot specialists from 2006 onwards.

A staple of the culture since before Supreme moved out of its first location on Lafayette St., Timberland has ruled from the calf down for years and in its latest collaboration with Supreme, the brands call back to their debut project, albeit with small amounts of subversion at play…

2006 Supreme x Timberland Field Boot

Although the ”American Flag” 6-inch Timbs are amongst the most iconic of Supreme collaborations, it was actually the lesser-appreciate Field Boot that kicked off the Supreme x Timberland train in 2006, where the former showcased its signature flair through leopard-fleece fixings at the boots’ padded collar.

Now, almost exactly 18 years later, Supreme is subtly referencing “the one that started it all” with hair-on-hide animal stripe iterations of the Timberland Field Boot, alongside a no-frills, black leather option that’s more akin to the initial vision Timberland had for the design when it first dropped in the 80’s.

Standing out function-wise from its striking pack-mates, the hairless Supreme x Timberland Field Boot is the only one to feature a Gore-Tex inner membrane, making its waterproofness known with stitched branding across the heel.

The other two orange ‘tiger’ or white ‘zebra’ print versions make up for their lack of anti-wet capabilities through unique hairy uppers, with all three designs receiving the same branding placements, notably the white-on-black box logo and bright red, co-branded insoles.

The Supreme x Timberland Field Boot will release alongside the rest of Supreme’s FW24 Week 13 release, which includes a headline Hysteric Glamour collaboration.
