Although not quite on the level of Supreme, Aimé Leon Dore is far from innocent when it comes to occasionally releasing an uber-expensive accessory.
Of course, ALD’s various projects with Porsche immediately spring to mind, despite never being made available to the public, and the brand has also released a one-off collaboration with boat company Technohull in 2023 that fetched a reported sticker price of $500,000 USD.
ALD’s other luxury excursion came when it linked up with Rimowa last May, delivering two suitcases in signature “ALD green” that respectively retailed for $3,880 and $2,670 USD.
Now, Aimé Leon Dore is giving a “Mulberry Street makeover” to one of the best espresso machines available on the market today - the Linea Micra from La Marzocco, updating it with signature detailing and a new price tag that fetches over three times more than a standard example.
The collaboration ties into ALD’s other line of work outside of redefining NYC streetwear, where it serves various hot and cold beverages, plus sweet treats and more out of its annexed “Café Leon Dore” hangouts at the brand’s flagship stores in London and NYC.
Handmade at La Marzocco’s workshop in Florence, the machine is designed to bring home the classy air of exclusivity surrounding Café Leon Dore - earning its $11,600 USD price tag through a one-off, matte green stainless steel construction, special walnut wood detailing and brass engraved hardware.
The partnership also introduced a concise offering of apparel and accessories, including a set of espresso cups and saucers, plus a cap, tees and an apron sporting “Café Leon Dore x La Marzocco” logos.
