A name jam-packed full of greatness is an appropriate description for the Bryant family. From Kobe's 20-year-long NBA career to Gianna (Gigi) Bryant's rising basketball talent, the family of six have experienced overwhelming tragedy in recent years, including the passing of Kobe and his 14-year-old daughter in early 2020.
A marker of Kobe's career was undoubtedly his deal with Nike which began in 2003. Here, the star produced 17 signature models which were sold to the public. Since his death, resell prices for select pairs have skyrocketed into the thousands as fans feared the halt of releases.

Nike and Vanessa Bryant have put a stop to these rumors as they have recently announced the continuation of the glorious partnership. The swoosh has teamed up with the player’s late wife on new footwear and apparel lines that will focus on championing the next generation of sports enthusiasts.

The first release will be the Kobe 6 Protro “Mambacita Sweet 16” which pays tribute to Gigi Bryant. All sales will be donated to the Mamba and Mambacita Sports Foundation, a non-profit organization that advocates for underserved youth groups in sport.
Furthermore, the pairing will open the doors to a youth basketball center in the Los Angeles area that will honor the Mamba mentality across NBA and WNBA athletes.
