After recently teaming up with smash hit game Fortnite, Balenciaga have taken another unexpected turn into the world of popular culture by turning to The Simpsons family and a whole host of Springfield residents to model looks from their new collection as part of Paris Fashion Week.
Debuted at an event held by the luxury brand, a special 10 minute episode of the show depicts Homer begging the brand to send "the cheapest thing with your label on it" as a late gift for Marge's birthday, prompting the brand to send a special couture outfit especially for her.
In response to a thank you letter from Marge saying how special she felt in the look, Balenciaga creative director Demna Gvasalia offers to fly the Springfield residents to Paris, sending unlikely figures including Police Chief Wiggum, bar own Moe Szyslak, Patti, Selma and many more down the runway.
As with previous Balenciaga collabs inspired by Marvel Comics, RuPaul and more, a capsule clothing collection is also rumoured to follow, with images of hats and graphics t-shirts featuring the Simpsons family circulating.
If confirmed, the clothing collection is likely to be available to shop via Balenciaga's online store and select locations, hopefully in the near future.
