The North Face have tapped Online Ceramics to celebrate the planet they owe their successes to, through an Earth Day-centred capsule that finely treads the green trails of each brand’s design philosophy. The LA-based clothing label got their start in the game through hand-worked tie-dye pieces that relied heavily on psychedelic motifs, their upcoming ‘regrind’ collection with The North Face follows the same approach (minus the tie-dye), although presented through the lens of Classic TNF staples, with great emphasis on sustainability.
In conjunction with Earth day, The North Face released a short message to its followers, in which Carol Shu, global sustainability manager at TNF, promulgated that “By 2025, 100% of our top materials will be recycled, regeneratively grown, or responsibly sourced.” then goes on to detail the ‘regrind’ process, in which cutting scraps are rounded up from the factory floor, sorted by colour and ultimately upcycled into new products.
The same process has been used for The North Face’s recent works with Online Ceramics.
The collection riffs on the usual outdoor-ready wardrobe principles, however it’s the duo of ’86 Mountain Jackets that really take the (vegan) cake. The jacket arrives in two colourways, one is dyed in arden green and the other is left ‘raw’ in colour, resulting in the perfect summer rig. Both proudly feature external fabric composition tags, with electric blue TNF branding to the chest, and Online Ceramics’ lettering to the right cuff.
Besides the jackets, Online Ceramics have displayed various cartoonish, cold-blooded creatures across caps, sweats, fleeces and tees - with other earthly graphics making an appearance on vibrant accessories, like the sleeping bag and rucksack.
Select pieces are already available from , with seeing a wider release on Friday, April 29.
