With Paris Fashion Week SS25 now in the rear view, we take a look at the most noteworthy footwear collaborations to arise from the the event, featuring the likes of adidas x Wales Bonner, Junya Watanabe and Comme des Garçons.

Comme des Garçons - Nike Sense 96 SP

Falling under Comme des Garçons’ Homme Plus range, the preliminarily dubbed Nike Sense 96 SP is brimming with Air Max DNA - taking upper inspiration from the Air Max 96 and borrowing the exact sole unit from Nike’s ISPA Sense. While monochromatic black and white palettes are synonymous with CDG shoe collabs, the brand also unveiled a candy pink colourway.

Story MFG - Asics + Roa + Suicoke

For the uninitiated, Story MFG is an ethically-focused lifestyle and clothing brand founded by Saeed Al-Rubeyi, best known for its natural textiles and environmentally-conscious approach to manufacturing. Taking place in an outdoor wildflower allotment, Story MFG’s lowkey SS25 showcase unveiled three heavy hitters involving some of the best and brightest in the modern footwear scene, with all three acting as testaments to the brand’s ethos and unique aesthetic.

Despite emanating from different entities, the shoes showed continuity across their respective designs, with the ASICS GEL-Venture 5 and ROA Katharina both opting for a blue gingham check uppers, where the two Suicoke models hosted a brown knitted textile that looks to compliment the comfortable nature of the Japanese sandal specialists.

Junya Watanabe - Oakley Factory Team + New Balance

Junya Watanabe collaborations have become a cornerstone of the brand’s identity and year in, year out, we’re always treated to headline-worthy releases that often spit in the face of conformism and once again, Junya Watanabe chose the Oakley Factory Team and New Balance to be subjected to his unique flair.

Although currently unnamed, Junya’s project with Oakley is rooted in the latter’s outdoor history and features a moulded rubber construction that flows down to the mudguard, all held together by an intricate webbed lacing system.

Also featured in Junya Watanabe SS25 was a collaboration with New Balance, working on a new silhouette titled the UX200L. This design is reminiscent of purpose-built climbing shoes, with its anatomically-fitted shape and thin Vibram outsole, drawn up in full black or white colourways with a Junya Watanabe tag on the tongue.

Wales Bonner - adidas Samba + Superstar High

A partnership that truly needs little introduction, the contemporary constant in today’s fashion scene showed that its commitment to the Samba is unwavering, with yet another makeup on show at Wales Bonner SS25. The design in question saw the Samba revamped once more with a sequinned upper construction and brown velvet tabs. Elsewhere, Wales Bonner tackled another icon of the adidas catalogue with suede, high top variations of the Superstar that favour muted suede uppers, with the Superstar’s iconic shell toe retaining its typical white lacquer.
