Teddy Santis is one name that everyone should be familiar with.

Sneakerheads and Aimé Leon Dore disciples alike owe many of the past year’s style trends to this man, who has been at the forefront of the great New Balance revival through his creative directorship of their flagship MADE in the U.S.A branch, amongst collaborations between the Bostonian brand and his own New York-born brainchild.
After unprecedented levels of success befell the previous releases, it’s only right that New Balance continues to place their trust in the hands of Mr. Santis, as the two gear up to finally unleash the fourth generation of New Balance’s patriotic product line.

So far, two colourways of the 990v4 have found their way onto Instagram, showing one honorary nod and another iteration that depicts the contemporary edge of New Balance’s rediscovered company ethos.
What could be described as a sequel to the kickstarting ‘Marblehead’ colourway, the first 990v4 is largely built from hairy suede grey uppers, offset by soft blue tabs and sail-coloured mesh. The yellowish tinge on the Encap midsole completes the neo-vintage aesthetic.
The second colourway focuses on an entirely purple construction, which is spread across more pig suede and luxe mesh, with a darker hue set on the tabs. A slate grey “N” is outlined in white, pairing with one third of the midsole to finish the striking silhouette.

Expect the New Balance 990v4 by Teddy Santis to drop alongside an updated colourway selection of the MADE in U.S.A range in the coming months.
