In its second ever collaboration with France’s prize cordwainers, London’s Studio Nicholson borrows Paraboot’s most popular style, imbuing it with fine textiles and idiosyncratic detailing.
The maiden Studio Nicholson x Paraboot partnership set sail earlier this year, bringing about a pseudo boat shoe fit for Summer wear and with the current Winter season well underway, especially in Europe, the brands are reconnecting to elevate Paraboot’s Michael with supple deerskin and subverted lacing.
Studio Nicholson’s fabric-first mindset is on full display, as Paraboot’s typically favoured calf leather is replaced with full-grain deerskin, picked specifically by Studio Nicholson founder Nick Wakeman for its “beautiful glossy grain that’s also super durable”.

The rugged appeal of deerskin leather is complimented by outdoor-inspired rope laces that hold together the Michael’s iconic two-eye, tyrolean upper - all propped up by a Norwegian-welted rubber outsole.
The shoe takes on a “darkest brown” palette that has been chosen in line with Studio Nicholson’s own Winter ‘24 effort, which plays with elegant tones of espresso, mole, feather and black.

In place of the usual cursive Paraboot script at the collar is Studio Nicholson’s non-effusive font, with final branding notes appearing on the shoes’ insoles.
