Stone Island has been at the forefront of outerwear expansion since the late, great Massimo Osti introduced the badge-flailing jacketeers to the dressers and casuals of Europe’s football scene back in 1982.

The material list of Stone Island’s previous exploits goes on for miles, and even after 40 years in the game, they are still managing to come up with new methods and techniques in their quest to keep the humble jacket as the staple of any modern wardrobe.

To commemorate such a long standing career, Stone Island have dropped a special collection of coats, using the PIATTINA 82/22 material, which according to Stone Island is, “A canvas consisting of polyester monofilaments in the warp and flat nylon threads in the weft. The shiny and transparent fabric shows the jacquard technique 82/22 graphic in black polyester and cotton, which takes the dye colour with the addition of an anti-drop agent.”

I’m no scientist, but that sounds pretty cool.
The collection presents itself through two premier styles, a bomber jacket and a parka - both are constructed from the aforemntioned fabric, which radiates a translucent, silky shine across all 6 colourways (olive, teal, white, black and blue).
Alongside the jackets, a range of equally high-quality sweats and tees are available, formatted in heavy cotton jersey with tonal 82/22 branding placed on the back of the tees and on the side-panels of the sweats and shorts.
