After announcing earlier this year that he’s returning to the streetwear game, Shawn Stussy’s eponymous label S/Double is finally starting to hit retailers.

Since moving on from Stüssy in 1996, Shawn has mostly kept to himself barring lavish excursions with Dior and a seperate, self-titled project that debuted in 2008 dubbed “S/Double”.

S-Double faded into obscurity sometime in the mid 2010s and now, with the help of Globe Skateboards’ Stephen, Peter and Matt Hill, the brand is back with fresh designs straight from the Shawn Stussy sketchbook.
Far more “cult” in status compared to Stüssy, S/Double found its niche in Japan, where collaborations with the likes of Beams and adidas were most popular, amongst selvedge denim, loopwheel sweats and traditional footwear styles that spoke to Shawn’s appreciation for well-crafted menswear.

Considering the assist from Australia’s Globe Skateboards, the return of S/Double is rightly grounded in classic surf and skate culture, where simple logos and hard-wearing fabrics rule the waves.
In his signature scrawly pen, “Shawn” features heavily on graphic staples like tees and caps, also appearing on the repeat print football jersey. S/Double staples include short-sleeved shirts and utilitarian denim shorts.

The first pieces from S/Double’s revival are available now via select retailers/ skate shops across Australia and New Zealand.
