To commemorate the grand opening of SEGA’s first official physical store in Japan, the company is teaming up with Timberland to release a special run of Sonic-branded 6” boots.

Long recognised as an important jewel in the crown of Japan’s media landscape, SEGA is taking a break from the digital world to give fans the physical experience they deserve. Setting up in the futuristic Shibuya PARCO retail complex in Tokyo, die-hard SEGA fans can now shop exclusive merch and enjoy brand activations centred around their favourite fictional worlds.

Sonic the Hedgehog is undeniably the most prominent franchise in the SEGA portfolio, and although the sci-fi mammal’s iconic red boots won’t be receiving “IRL” status anytime soon, SEGA is offering fans the next best option by working with a bonafide boot expert on a limited number of Sonic-branded Timbs.

There’s also a duo of graphic tees dropping alongside the SEGA x Timberland “Sonic” Boots, exclusively available via the Timberland store in the Shibuya PARCO mall.

The release takes place this Saturday, August 9. Retail price for the boots is approximately $260 USD (¥38,500).
