At their recent catwalk outing, Maison Margiela’s younger sibling - MM6 surprised everyone. Before their Fall/ Winter ’22 runway show, MM6 had specialised in casual, more contemporary cuts, solely for women. As the lines between gender in fashion become increasingly blurred, we saw this year, a first for the sub-division, menswear - however, it was the revelation of their upcoming collaboration with literal trail-blazers - Salomon, that stole the headlines.

The shroud-heavy shoe looks to come in three colourways; red, black and a multi-toned beige/ silver silhouette. The thick sole trend stands defiant, with a multi-coloured wedge that is reminiscent of the engineering found on Salomon’s CROSSHIKE CSWP.
Salomon have been on a winning streak of artisanal, cult collaborations that please the masses whilst still remaining unique. Most recently with the sold-out Xt Quest 2 x The Broken Arm.
The rest of the runway show depicted variations on the same pieces, cut in different lengths and widths to separate and (also) bridge the gap between casual wear and office attire.
