For its latest collaboration, Salomon is revisiting its newly founded partnership with vegan restaurant and community hub Jah Jah to exhibit their joint passion for a good product, be it a quality pair of kicks or some good old fashioned soul food.
Parisian cuisine staple Jah Jah is a restaurant heralded for its menu that draws on the heritage of owners Coralie Jouhier and Daquisiline Gomis, who come from Afro-Caribbean backgrounds and as such, perpetuate a sense of unity through food and other community-based activities.
The latest Salomon x Jah Jah collaboration is centred around a campaign that brings the symbols and traditions of West Africa to life, especially the mythical Kankourang.

Kankourang is a spiritual figure originating from Senegal, Gambia and Guinea-Bissau that is worshipped as a guardian of ancestral customs and traditions, and is believed to maintain social order and preserve strength in community.
Creative director Daquisiline Gomis and director/photographer Otman Qrita wanted this campaign to go beyond the promotion of a pair of shoes to become a committed and engaging expression. The film and photo series celebrate the power of West Africa's cultural heritage within the contemporary artistic landscape.

The Salomon x Jah Jah ACS Pro’s colour combination evokes the innate power found within African and Caribbean communities and the value that comes from embracing ones roots. A chocolate brown upper is highlighted by flashes of red and yellow, finished with dual branded tabs on the tongue and heel.

The Salomon x Jah Jah ACS Pro will be available on Thursday, September 28th on Salomon.com.
