One of the more surprising hits to release in recent years, Sacai and Carhartt WIP are gearing up to drop the second season of its joint venture centred around bringing the staple workwear textile into the 21st century and beyond.

When it first aired in early 2023, Sacai x Carhartt WIP was instantly recognised as one of the better minglings of high and street level fashion since the trend was popularised by Supreme x Louis Vuitton in 2017. Regardless of the fact that we’re well into the gentrification cycle of the workwear icon, Carhartt is still very much relevant in today’s scene and once again, soft-handed influencers can rejoice at the next instalment of its collaboration with Sacai.
This latest effort leans more into Sacai’s wheelhouse, bringing about an 18-piece collection with a larger focus on tailoring, comprised of Reversible Duck Coat combining two signature Carhartt WIP styles – the iconic Chore Coat and Siberian Parka – while the sartorial Bonded Dress takes inspiration from a Bib Overall style, juxtaposing rugged, functional cues with the fluidity of a pleated skirt.
Sacai’s influence extends onto the material choices, with the inclusion of its own wool-blend suiting textile also favoured in the latest capsule. The badge of workwear honour comes into play on caps, tees and hoodies - reinvigorated in seasonal palettes like mint green and dusky grey.
