Pop Culture References and Reverse Box Logos in Supreme's SS23 Tops Collection

Along with the the brand's graphic tees, Supreme's sweatshirt selection is always one of the most anticipated parts of each season.

This Spring Summer season brings another varied collection of colour-block knitwear, 1980s influences, references from the art and film worlds plus the highly-coveted Supreme box logo sweatshirts.

This season's box logo sweatshirt turns the classic design literally inside out with the Inside Out Box Logo Hooded Sweatshirt collection, which sees the box logo rendered across the chest on brushed back fleece.

For the most part, Supreme’s hoodie output doesn’t skimp on the graphic front, with plentiful helpings of stitch work and print including a sign-appliquéd sweat with “mercy” and “grace” sewn into both arms plus an allover wavy branded knit pattern.

Known for their graphic Photo Tees honouring cultural figures, this season's sweatshirt collection features a tribute to late grunge rock icon Kurt Cobain.

The Nirvana frontman is rendered on a knitted cable knit sweater featuring a still from the band's legendary MTV Unplugged in New York set.

Frank Miller's Ronin graphic novel series features on tropically coloured jerseys and Cuban-collar shirts, showing the story’s hero riding on his trusty steed with katanas akimbo.

A y2k themed eagle appears here on a piped orange hoodie, followed by an off-kilter reference to the John Waters’ film Pink Flamingos featuring drag performance artist Divine on a zip through hooded sweatshirt, declaring “I’m so Beautiful”.

Taking a break from over-the-top graphics, Supreme hasn’t forgotten about the essential lovers out there, hosting an array of non-effusive sweats and shirts, with minimal branding and quality constructions.

The Supreme Spring Summer 2023 season is set to begin in stores and online this Thursday 16th February. Available in Japan from Saturday 18th February.
