Nike Unveils Bevy of Upcoming Models in Latest SNKRS Showcase
June 21, 2024
Following on from its debut last October, Nike’s SNKRS showcase has made its grand return to unveil the cream of the crop in Nike’s GR calendar for the year ahead.

The overview has been split into four separate subsections that each encompass different styles and aesthetics, ranging from the Football-coded “Look of Field” collection to “Icons”, “Cult Classics” and “Maxxed Out” corners of Nike culture.
Coinciding with the 2024 UEFA Euro competition, the “Look of Field” banner speaks to Nike’s lengthy involvement with the beautiful game and sends a message that retro jerseys aren’t the only piece of paraphernalia that deserve a modern moment, as Nike unveils the Total 90 III and Gato models, which have been removed from their traditional performance-oriented context and reconfigured with updated features and colour schemes to better fit the bill of true “lifestyle models”.
The “Icons” category has been put together as a way for Nike to reintroduce some of its most classic models in “never-before-seen executions”. Amongst these classic silhouettes are Berlin and Paris-inspired Air Force 1 and Dunk Lows, alongside a quartet of Women’s-exclusive Air Rifts boasting premium materials and deep palettes.

Also present in the “Icons” section is a luxe edition of the Nike ACG Goadome hiking boot, plus a true-to-form reissue of the 'Rainbow' Air Footscape Woven.
Besides collector favourites such as the Air Zoom Spiridon OG and Air Force 1 ‘Escape’, Nike’s “Cult Classics” lineup is headlined by the first ever re-release of the 'Galaxy' Air Foamposite One.

Originally released in 2012 during the NBA All-Star Weekend, ‘Galaxy’ Foamposites are forever ingrained in sneaker lore due to their limited nature and unique appearance. Twelve years on from its debut release, the ‘Galaxy’ Foamposite will return, complete with its astrological upper graphic and glow-stick-esque outsole.
Finally, Air Max lovers rejoice, as we will see two cult-classic models return, in addition to bedazzled Air Max Plus and a bridging of generations with the Nike Air Waffle Racer SP - all coming under the fitting category of “Maxxed Out” Nike silhouettes.

Swarovski Crystal-adorned Nikes are often some of the most limited and expensive models The Swoosh willingly releases on a semi-large scale and after tackling the Air Max 97 and Air Force 1, the next Nike model to receive a luxe makeover will be the UK-favourite TN, available in sleek black and orange-hued versions, the latter of which references the cult ‘Sunset’ Air Max Plus.

Dug straight from the Air Max archives, Nike is resurrecting the TL2.5 and Air Max Sunder in 2024, staying true to the respective models’ heritage with y2k-inspired colour schemes and textile advancements on the Sunder, resulting in full black and red Gore-Tex-bound iterations.

Going back even further to the formative years of Nike, the brand is bringing the Waffle racer into the 21st century and beyond with the Waffle Racer SP - a special project from Nike that borrows midsole input from the aforementioned Air Max Plus “TN”, melded with the OG waffle outsole that props up a familiar upper portion.

All of the above will release periodically over the course of 2024, available via Nike SNKRS.
