Dim the lights and prepare for that candle-lit glow because the Air Max 1 is celebrating its 35th anniversary. For its annual Air Max Day celebration, Nike is gearing up to release a slew of pairs that commemorate the silhouette and its long-held history, one of them being the deconstructed Air Max 1 "Wabi-Sabi".
Sporting a stitched-up build, the sneaker references the Japanese concept that calls upon the appreciation of imperfections. Covered in unfinished details, it sees earth-colored panels sewn together via exposed white stitching.

From front to back, opposing olive and brown hues dress the nubuck mudguards as they switch and connect to the heel overlays. These are tied together via a red stitch that reads XXXV, paying tribute to the shoe's 35th year.
Pale pink leather is seen at the medial and accompanied by a mustard yellow panel that rounds out the laces. The set of tongues present a novel update with transparent windows that showcase the Nike logo on one side and the celebratory date on the other. These can be customized with a set of patches included in each pair.
At the rear, traditional Nike Air branding is abandoned and replaced with a smiling Nike swoosh while the cracked midsole lays atop a gum outsole.

The Air Max 1 "Wabi-Sabi" is slated to release exclusively in Asia and Latin America on March 26th.
