Of all the collaborators to work with New Balance, who knew a humble sandwich shop could create such satiable treats for the feet, when coming from the realm of fried eggs and patisserie. The shop in question is Paperboy, a Parisian staple who have amassed a customer base of like-minded streetwear heads that love a hefty pastrami sandwich just as much as they do a good pair of New Balance.

Paperboy has captured the eye of New Balance, who love to shed light on independent facets of creativity. The duo have previously released works on a “fried egg” 992 and a recent collaborative 991 with Paperboy and Allgone, the latter of which released exclusively at Paperboy’s shop to sell-out acclaim.
Besides his commitment to serving good grub, Paperboy founder James Dridi has always had an affinity with Japanese streetwear, being a large proponent for firms like Needles, Sophnet and ultimately Beams. Paperboy’s newest works with New Balance bring Beams onboard to celebrate 40 years of production at New Balance’s UK factory in Flimby, which is home to the two silhouettes featured in this collaboration.

The 1500 and 920 are both built from pig suede with mesh underlays, appearing to don mismatched patches of contrasting greys on either foot. No official imagery has been released but Paperboy have confirmed a release/ reveal date of Tuesday, June 21st.
