Nepenthes London Unveils Exclusive “Night and Day” Needles Capsule

Nepenthes London has revealed an exclusive capsule releasing under the Needles brand range of butterfly-adorned sportswear, reimagining signature cuts and introducing two new styles that evoke the progressive tendencies of the wider Nepenthes family.

Where Engineered Garments covers more traditional menswear and South2 West8 focuses on purpose-built outdoor styles, Keizo Shimizu’s Needles has always acted as the experimental arm of the Nepenthes corporation, best recognised for its cut-and-sewn tees, hoodies and flannels, alongside signature loose tracksuits that wear the brand’s butterfly insignia like badge of honour.

Playing with themes of “Night and Day”, the capsule introduces a black/ silver colour palette specially developed by Nepenthes London, who aim to capture the essence of clear Summer nights in the Big Smoke.

In addition to the return of Needles’ ubiquitous full-zip Track Jacket and darted-front Track Pants (in both standard and HD ‘balloon’ fits), the Nepenthes team has also conjured up two new additions to its ever-growing arsenal of conceptual sportswear - the HD Track Short and Track Shirt.

Modelled by Lewis Boyce, who is a proud proponent of London’s deep-rooted biking culture, and a dedicated endurance athlete in his own right, the heightened senses of proportion, materiality, and movement afforded by the new HD Track Short and Track Shirt are on full display, as Boyce is captured cycling through London, showing off the fluidity of Needles’ newest styles.
