Nepenthes’ most famous brand Needles is set to participate in one of the more random collaborations to drop this year, teaming up with true OG’s of the skate world DC for a straightforward capsule that fuses the best of both brands’ respective worlds.

Needles is best recognised for its butterfly insignia that mainly features on piped tracksuits and DC is a brand that specialises in skate shoes and is approaching its 30th anniversary, kicking celebrations off early by crossing the pond to work with Needles on a concise delivery of trackies and kicks.
For the collaboration, DC has fused the “D” from its logo with one half of the Papillon stamp that appears on jacket and bottoms, a two-piece tracksuit, a couple tees, headwear and accessories.

Available in black and white with purple trims, the coat looks to be constructed from a ripstop shell textile, fixed with a stowable hood, toggles and zips. Co-ordinating trousers hold all the same accoutrements, minus the hood.
Sticking to Needles’ usual polyester construction, the hoodie and track pants again use either a black or white base that’s decorated with line work and wide taping that runs down the side of the garments.
Another of Needle’s signature dishes comes to fruition, with a duo of 7-cuts tees that as the name suggests, takes seven samples of up-cycled fabric to form a singular piece of wearable art that for this collaboration, manifests as a ‘fade’ design with jagged hems and exposed stitching.
Accessories include flat-brimmed baseball caps, bucket ‘Bermuda’ hats, side bags and a skate deck that all bear the amalgamated crest.
Moving to DC’s area of expertise, the exclusive hybrid model welds the upper from the Spectre model with the sole of the Clocker 2 to create a chunky, purpose built skate shoe that stays on brand with black and white colourways that both feature purple detailing and branding notes on the heel and ankle.
