For her second Nike collaboration, British-Jamaican menswear designer Martine Rose has set an unexpected twist on the Nike Twist sneaker. Dubbed the "Shox MR4," the team-up takes sportswear silhouette and reimagines it with great attention to detail, keeping in mind the football field at all times. For this, she has converted the shoe into a mule, lowering its heel support and granting it a pointed toe box.
Blending the boundary between "getting off the plane and getting on the pitch," the collaborative launch takes place just as the UEFA Women’s Euros tournament kicks off in Manchester.
“We recognized a great opportunity to really focus on women and football and then make a trainer that is almost like a smart shoe,” says Rose.

The campaign for the shoe is an ideal reflection of this as the designer, her long-term collaborator Tamara Rothstein and photographer Pascal Gambarte have tapped on nine women across Europe, aiming to showcase the female football pioneers in the country.
The innovative campaign is a bid to highlight the inequality between men and women experienced in the sport daily, hoping to make a change together.
