Martine Rose is set to expand upon her previous works with Nike to create a sartorial capsule that is equal parts British sporting DNA and American Swoosh flair.

Ever since Martine Rose started her eponymous brand in 2007, she has challenged the status quo by shedding light on various subcultures and often overlooked communities and in the latest Martine Rose x Nike capsule, that same sentiment is echoed, although with a new focal point of women’s football.
</br>
After already drawing up her very own jersey for the 2021 England’s Women's team, calling the project “The Lost Lionesses”, Martine later went on to release her first Nike Shox MR4 campaign that debuted during the 2022 Women’s Euro’s, in which the England Lionesses won the final, unifying a nation in the process.
With deep ties to the beautiful game, Martine’s latest collection with Nike is built with the praise-worthy elite in mind, in both style and substance, yielding a modern set of armour for those on their way to greatness.

The largely formal offering includes The Player’s Suit Jacket and Trousers, Trench Coat and Shirt, that all draw on the sartorial heritage that is so deeply intertwined within London’s culture.
</br>
Speaking on her thought process behind the collection, Martine commented:
</br>
“When a woman wears a suit, it expresses strength, resilience and beauty. I want women to feel powerful in their suits like men do. More than that, although I’m using women to tell the story, there’s no gender attached to the suit, anyone can wear it.”
Crafted in Italy, the navy Jacket and Trousers are fashioned from 100% wool and feature a jacquard, almost houndstooth ‘M’ pattern, with embellishments on the pants in the form of a Nike x Martine Rose tag above the back pocket that adopts the sporty essence found on standard Nike kits.
For days in the dugout, the Trench Coat – available in a classic beige or navy, comes with extra sleeves attached at the shoulders, emulating football scarves typically worn by fans in the terraces as a way to hide their faces should a cheeky away-day scrap present itself.
</br>
Detail-wise, the Trench is stitched with a globe of Swooshes on the left sleeve, as a tribute to football’s world-reaching influence over all creeds and classes, again finished with the same tag that is found above the back pocket on the trousers.
Topping off the finery, the “Dress Shirt” is a euphemistic crossover between a classic button-up style and Nike’s winning “swoosh on the left, badge on the right” formula, the latter of which, displays a Martine Rose crest, sat atop a faux ‘sponsor’ logo.
The apparel selection is rounded out by Air Sheer Stockings (football socks) and Echo Shield Sunglasses that feature subtle frame co-branding.
Finally, Martine’s take on the hood classic Nike Shox R4 is also influenced by more traditional designs, remixing the odd-soled runner into a pointy-toed mule, crowned the “Shox MR4”.
</br>
Besides the two gradient options, the hodgepodge of high-heelage, running shoe DNA and pointed Derby toecaps is also available with a black base that’s splattered with paint as a reference to goalkeeper kits from the 90’s.
