Kiko Kostadinov and Hysteric Glamour are the proverbial boots on the ground for avante garde design with street credibility - although placed at opposite ends of the design spectrum, the two are similar in their non-conformist approach to fashion; where Kiko lies very much under the Slavic-core banner, Hysteric Glamour is one of the Japanese streetwear originators, famous for their whimsical graphics and bold prints.
The link up is a match made in heaven for those “in the know” - it’s like the fashion archivist’s equivalent of Louis Vuitton x Supreme. Solely focusing on womenswear pieces, the collection fuses Hysteric Glamour’s euphemistic take on logos with Kiko’s clever cutting of garments, alongside an Asics collaboration that continues the ultra-sporty vibes of Kostadinov’s personal reign over the Japanese footwear firm.
Similar to Needles’ “rebuild” range, Kiko’s handiwork can be seen on a pair of long sleeve tees that have been chopped and screwed to offer a neopolitan-esque mix of abstract graphics and mismatched panels with an unassuming collegiate vibe thanks to Hysteric Glamour’s input on the illustration front, mimicking old comic books and metal band Iron Maiden.
Further stylisation is prevalent on the colour washed denim two pieces, which are seen in “Dust Pink” and “Blue Star”, with more all-over branding and a series of rather unuseful zips, which are clearly intended to cater to form over function. The jeans feature a detachable skirt, which can be worn on its own or as part of the full Kiko inspired get-up.

Besides the aforementioned pieces, knitwear, both loose and fitted, will be available, and stays true to the design codes seen in the rest of the capsule.
The real piece(s) de résistance are the pair of signature Asics models which have been specially produced for the collaboration, featuring the same sole as the Kiko designed Asics Gel-Levitrack, although stripping away sections of the upper for greater breathability, adding an intricate lace system, enlarged Asics paraphernalia and patterned underlays.

The collaboration will be released in full on October, 28th from Hysteric Glamour’s webstore.
