Homegrown Scottish brand Kestin has just released the latest instalment of its Outdoor Garments series, introducing a fresh delivery of key outerwear styles designed to stand against the harshest of Highland weather.
Founded by Kestin Hare in his hometown of Edinburgh, the eponymous label is a product of the ever-changing culture and environment of Scotland, commanding a true form-meets-function approach to menswear that still honours the country’s rich heritage in fashion.
An integral part of that heritage is the year-round requirement for high-performance outdoor gear, more specifically a big jacket (or gilet) that looks equally at home down the local pub as it does halfway up Fiacaill Ridge.
Progressing a design introduced as part of Kestin’s inaugural Outdoor Garments capsule last year, the AW24 update reintroduces the Cuillin Down Jacket in three new shades of washed black, light olive and burnt orange.

Using onion quilt baffles inspired by old military wear, the recycled nylon fabric holds 90/10 down/ feather insulation, finished with subtle handwarmer pockets and a modestly-sized hood that can easily fit over your favourite Shetland wool beanie.
Available only in light olive and black, the Cuillin also lends its cozy, water-repellent moniker to a duo of down vests that boast the same trimmings as its beefier dropmate.
