Putting rumours of a Nigo x Nike collab on the back-burner, the Japanese streetwear OG has his next footwear partnership already pencilled in, by way of the upcoming KENZO x Asics Gel-Kayano 20.

Nigo has held the Artistic Director role at KENZO for just over two years now and alongside quietly tweaking the luxury house’s aesthetic to appeal to a more streetwear savvy crowd, the brand has also seen collaborations with the likes of Levi’s and Verdy, plus expansions of KENZO’s in-house footwear division on a handful of zeitgeisty models.

Now turning its attention to Asics, KENZO tackles the 20th iteration of the brand’s most popular Gel-Kayano series, anointing the silhouette with a trio of eccentric designs.
Each version displays some form of animal print, ranging from tiger stripes on the white and black pairs to flashes of leopard print overlayed on the green/ red and blue edition. Each pair is signed off with a red KENZO tongue tag on the left shoe, complete with all-caps wordmarks on the outer toe box.

Expect the collaboration to release in the coming weeks.
