Taking a break from painting hand-crafted New Balance kicks in drab tones, Justin Saunders’ Jjjjound design studio is heading over to Italy, teaming up with the gorphead’s boot-maker of choice ROA, for another minimalistic outing that purely prides itself on design over bold branding.
The collaboration works on the Andreas silhouette, which has been a mainstay of ROA’s arsenal since their inception in 2015. While the Andreas has always featured in ROA’s personal capsules, in recent collections contention has risen surrounding the updated Vibram sole, which to the joy of many has now been undone to honour the OG design of the Andreas hiking boot.
Besides a mean looking tread, further classic outdoor tropes can be seen on the metal lace lugs, reinforced heel section and triple black leather construction.

The only Jjjjound calling card is left on the lateral panel of either shoe, with the ROA’s triangle logo on the toe cap.

The Jjjjound x ROA Andreas Hiking boot will release worldwide on February 24th on jjjjound.com.
