Henri Lloyd is one of a select few brands that has cornered the crossover where professional watersports and European football culture collide.

Now, with a new creative director at the helm and sustainability propelling its long-awaited internal reboot, Henri Lloyd looks to recapture cult status with its all-new Autumn Winter ‘24 collection.

Akin to peer brands like Paul & Shark and Aquascutum, Henri Lloyd was a pure sailing apparel brand for roughly 20 years, before becoming a mainstay of European and more specifically, the UK’s “football casual” wardrobe throughout the 80’s & 90’s.

A major attraction to Henri Lloyd’s offering is its outerwear and this season, newly appointed Creative Director Kestin Hare has dug into Henri Lloyd’s vast archive to reimagine classics such as the Freo and Portland styles (pictured above), amongst core articles that could just as easily slot into a kit bag for country pursuits out on the water.

An essential of foul-weather wear, Henri Lloyd’s Viking Smock is constructed from a 100% waterproof, 3-layer polyester shell, devised in-house and sourced entirely from recycled materials.

A more traditional example of performance outerwear is the Consort RWR jacket - again built from an ethically-sourced, pcf-free outer shell, this style features a diamond-quilt interior and thick corduroy collar, finished with the brand’s archival ’Round the World Race’ graphic at the arm that calls to HL’s lineage in professional sailing.

Sportswear staples include the Voyager Rugby Shirt and Falmouth Gansey Knit that show Henri Lloyd’s front and centre branding, where the latter is also bolstered with a reflective strip across the mid-section.

Henri Lloyd’s AW24 collection is available now via the brand’s website and select retailers.
