The North Face x Gucci is one of the more unexpected partnerships to hit the streets in recent memory, but with more and more high fashion firms branching out into the wild world of collaborations, it pales in comparison to the likes of Supreme x Louis Vuitton or even Gucci x adidas. One thing that sets Gucci’s work with The North Face apart, is the functionality of the gear involved, as it is just as much a true TNF collection, as it is the usual eccentric Gucci fodder.

The latest, third chapter in their ongoing affair has finally landed, and it carries on the same design codes as the previous two, although updating the Nuptse’s, sweats and general wares with a multicoloured logo and colour blocking, that the brands describe as "kaleidoscopic aesthetic”.
The rainbow-afflicted Gucci x TNF logo embodies the former's flowery spirit, and when thrust upon what is usually rugged gear, bears witness to the monumental cross section taking place between the two brands. As previously mentioned, we’ve got renditions of the iconic Nuptse down jacket, in both gilet and long-sleeved styles, as well as Gucci’s version of the big pocketed mountain parka, with some pieces adhering to the traditional Gucci memo, like minty tracksuits and monogrammed trousers, packs and sneakers.
By far, the least flashy piece is the blacked out, down gilet that only labels itself with a TNF x Gucci logo on the left chest pocket and opposing rear patch - a stealthy addition to an otherwise seriously vibrant collection.
