CLOT has just released its celebratory New Year collection with Tommy Hilfiger to mark fresh pastures in 2024, otherwise known as the Year of the Dragon.

When Edison Chen founded CLOT in 2003, he wanted to purvey a feeling of “East meets West” and that very ethos is no better exemplified than in this latest work with a long reigning powerhouse of U.S.A sport and prep culture like Tommy Hilfiger.
Tommy Hilfiger’s archive of contemporary Americana sets the stage for Edison Chen to infuse helpings of Chinese youth culture, creating a collection of revamped classics that channels the strength, luck and success associated with the Dragon.

Speaking on the collection, Edison Chen shared:

“When I was a kid growing up in Hong Kong, I used to read American hip-hop magazines that showed my favorite artists in Tommy’s loud prep (and) I wanted to be part of that. I am so thrilled to lend our culture to this collection, putting its spirit and meaning into the design. The most interesting part was communicating the feeling of the dragon, its power and success, in a way that is true.”
Highlights include a reversible bomber jacket with a brash fair-isle lining and cleaner wool face that displays a collegiate patch on the left breast, complete with a double toggle fastening reminiscent of traditional Chinese formalwear.
Sweatshirts and tees are embroidered with a dragon motif in Tommy Hilfiger’s proprietary palette of red, white and blue, with some designs ditching the mythical artwork in place of arbitrary, in-your-face co-branding.
Reimagined preppy staples are explored on the knit cardigan, striped 3/4 quarter sleeve rugby shirt and classic double breasted blazer bearing the collaborative crest.
