Dime Pays Homage to Y2k Runners with ASICS GT-2160 Collaboration

While high fashion reigned supreme during Paris fashion week 2023, one ambitious skate team from Canada took charge of the sneaker department to unveil a mega sporty collaboration with ASICS.

Dime doesn’t discriminate when it comes to sneaker partnerships and through varied projects with Vans, New Balance and even Merrell, Dime shows that it is more than just a skate brand and similarly to how their own clothing outputs have been incorporated into the wider streetwear conversation, Dime consistently branches out and in their latest work with ASICS - things are no different. 

The Dime x ASICS GT-2160 is a flagship collaboration for the model that capitalises on the mainstream success of the Gel-Kayano 14, albeit with a more streamlined structure that takes clear notes from runners of the early 2010’s that were built with performance in mind.

In the latest outing with Dime, the GT-2160’s foot-forming composition lends itself perfectly to the gradient mesh uppers and solid cream panelling that expands from the ASICS sidewall detailing to the eyestay and toe box, with no shortage of reflective piping throughout.

A tonal Dime logo is stamped on the outer heel, just below the model’s reference number.

A second colourway has also surfaced, but is rumoured be exclusive to DIME’s online and in-store locations and still features some shade of green, but swaps the cream hues for a classic navy.

The Dime x ASICS GT-2160 will first be available from Dime on Saturday, July 15th, with a global release on ASICS arriving on the 22nd.
