Casual streetwear heads will always recognise Supreme for its box logo tees & sweats and while the infamous design might pay the bills, it is Supreme’s proficiency in the jacket game that sets itself apart from copycat brands and this Spring Summer ‘24 season, “heavy” doesn’t even begin to describe the outerwear that Supreme has lined up for the coming months.
Starting with the finer side of Supreme’s coat division, real leather is used masterfully on classic shaped cuts, such as the varsity bomber jacket with chenille panelling that acts as the canvas for Cactus Plant Flea Market’s interpretation of the iconic seven letter branding.
A pure in-house varsity example is also available, depicting an angry ‘wave’ mascot on the chest and rear, joined by bold Supreme branding.
More heavy hitters include the chevron-striped faux fur jacket and reversible down puffer.
Militaria is explored with the help of Alpha Industries, who’ve dipped into the archives and emerged with a fishtail parka and MA-1 bomber jacket. The parka comes in black, olive green and snowy camouflage, garnished with artwork on the rear courtesy of Futura. The MA-1 bomber is actually a 2-in-1 job comprised of a detachable vest with six front pockets and a tonal wordmark across the back.
The vest comes readily attached to a standard type-1 bomber that can be removed should the wearer desire a more minimalistic Supreme jacket with less pockets and equal levels of branding .
Another familiar face returns in the form of Schott NYC, who are back for Supreme’s first collection of the year with a lambskin leather jacket that continues the spirit of customisability with its detachable faux fur trim hood.
One-upping themselves, Supreme has also chosen the supple grain of lambskin for its own home-brewed leather jacket that sets itself apart with a luxe satin lining and gemstone studs dotted all over the sleeves and the back to form a ”1994“ anniversary crest.
Workwear is always on the menu at Supreme and besides simple corduroy and flannel shirts, sometimes it’s not enough to just slap a mini box logo on the left chest, so cult classics like the chore jacket gets a vivid realtree makeover and the hooded canvas bomber is stitched with a mixture of corporate and eastern artwork from artist AOI.
This season’s matching denim set comes in washed black, brown and light indigo with panelled seams that make-up an enlarged “S” logo across the whole back and front sides on both the trucker jacket and loose fit jeans.
Numerous anorak’s are on offer this Spring Summer ‘24 season, including the quarter-zip cotton variation, plus a Gore-Tex version that follows a similar construction with the addition of reflective piping and everyone’s favourite DWR textile.
More Gore waterproof kit is available with the taped seam jacket that’s dyed in purple, bright orange and black, plus a rainforest print that features a banjo-playing Kermit the Frog on the back.
