After taking centre stage at COMME des GARÇONS' SS/22 runway show last year, CdG’s update on Nike’s Air Max Sunder is finally being released into the wider world, coming correct with a confirmed release date.

Whether it’s CdG Black or Homme Plus, any of Rei Kawakubo's diffusion lines can successfully revitalise forgotten Nike models, making them wearable for the modern consumer. Besides updates on mainstream hits like the Air Max 95, and a window-pane Dunk-Hi, works on already obscure silhouettes such as the Air Presto Plus and Air Mowabb are subjectively weird, yet objectively fire.

COMME des GARÇONS HOMME PLUS has struck that perfect medium once again with their take on Nike's Air Max Sunder.

The word ‘Sunder’ means to literally split apart, which is a very matter-of-fact name for the silhouette, with the distinguishing feature being the zippable shroud that encases the majority of the upper fabrications. Beneath the lycra-spandex sits mudguards and a TN-like Air Unit - branding is kept minimal with the addition of a mini swoosh and 'AIR' lettering at the base of the zip.

In keeping with most CdG Air Max releases, the shoe arrives in two white colourways, with one featuring contrasting, black panels - as well as a fully-blacked out version.

All three iterations of the COMME des GARÇONS HOMME PLUS x Nike Air Max Sunder SP will be available on July 21st at 11.a.m. (BST) from Dover Street Market - retailing for £280 GBP ($333 USD).
