Coming together in celebration of the Air Max 95’s 30-year anniversary, Nike and Levi’s are finally teaming up on their first proper collection.
While Levi’s has technically worked with Nike SB and Jordan brand in the past, not forgetting 2019’s customisable Nike by Levi’s collection, this upcoming release marks the first official meeting between the American denim legends and mainline Nike, who are taking advantage of the Air Max 95’s resurgence to shoulder responsibility for a milestone meeting between two powerhouses of the American fashion industry.
News of the partnership broke when now-seasoned Nike collaborator in his own right Lil’ Yachty posted a full Nike x Levi’s ‘fit to Instagram, preceded by a preview of three Air Max 95s featuring varying shades of denim uppers.
According to Yachty’s post, the shoe will be offered in black, ecru and a two-tone indigo version, reportedly titled “Obsidian”. The scarce imagery didn’t show any signs of Levi’s signature tag, however the brand’s associated shade of red did feature on spare laces, which seemingly come as the standard secondary option for each colourway of the Nike x Levi’s Air max 95.

It is currently unclear whether Nike and Levi’s will release a denim jacket and jeans set to match with each of its Air Max 95s, or if the ultra-washed version Lil’ Yachty posted will fly solo as the only apparel set featured in the collection.

Expect an official announcement for the Nike x Levi’s Air Max 95 collaboration to arrive in the coming weeks.
