Carhartt WIP have recruited London-based design studio Toogood, for a remixing of the workwear God’s most popular cuts, using Carhartt’s canvas in a minimalistic presentation that retains the utilitarian edge that is a constant “work in progress” for Carhartt’s streetwear imprint.

Founded in 2008 by Faye Toogood, her eponymous studio covers all aspects of design - be it furniture or fine art, Faye refuses to be confined to a single discipline. Besides a slew of furniture commissions, Toogood has previously worked with other masters of their niche in Porter Yoshida and Birkenstock.
Their latest collaborative outing focuses on two jackets, a shirt and a pair of overalls and trousers, rounding off the collection with an artsy t-shirt. Crafted from Carhartt’s ever-robust Dearborn Canvas, tonal branding and co-branded buttons subtly reinforce the masterminds, without being too overtly “Carhartt” - allowing Toogood’s minimalist heart to come to the forefront of the collection.
Toogood’s own “Photographer Jacket” is fused with Carhartt’s Michigan staple, to signify the brands’ love for all things utility and the shared aesthetic that runs through to the core of their respective design philosophies.
