After a whirlwind of a week for adidas, who recently dropped their controversial Balenciaga collaboration, the ‘brand with the three stripes’ is turning things down a notch to revisit past relationships for a more culturally acceptable release with BAPE.

BAPE and adidas are no fairweather friends, having released many co-designed iterations over the years, the duo are once again teaming up to work on the classic adidas Superstar. Last year we saw the ABC camo set upon the lifestyle silhouette, now the shell toe crep is being dressed in all black, with contrasting white detailing.

Built from the bottom up with an off-white sole, BAPE’s newest take on the Superstar opts for buttery black leather behind alternating stripes/ STA(r)s on either foot, the classic textured toe cap features alongside a blinged-out “BAPE” lace grill, matching the golden foil branding on the tongue.
