For its 30th anniversary, Bape is pulling out all the stops to celebrate three decades at the forefront of streetwear. While a year-long campaign with adidas commemorates 20 years of partnership between the brands, Bape wouldn’t be where they are today without the iconic BAPESTA sneaker.
The shooting star-adorned kicks have seen hundreds of colourways, also birthing various shapes and sizes of BAPESTA and after 23 years of dominating both West and Eastern markets, the shoe still manages to remain relevant - a feat that will become even easier once BAPE’s newest addition to the STA family releases, later this Summer.
For 2023, BAPE is presenting the CLUTCH STA, a mid-top shoe that will first release in two muted palettes that gel perfectly with the layered approach to the design that is clearly influenced by American basketball styles, although opting for a full leather construction, with perforation on the ankle and toebox, finished with rubber tabs on the eyestay.
A tonal BAPESTA logo is stitched below a “93” bubble tag on the heel, as homage to the year BAPE was born, complete with final branding hits on the tongue and outsole, where more BAPE motifs subtly reside.

The BAPE CLUTCH STA will debut in Olive and Grey this July, available online and in-store from BAPE.com, retailing at £269 USD.
