A Bathing Ape just touched down in New York City to jerk the curtain on its famous BAPE HEADS event that showcased looks from its mainline brand and for the first time, clubbed together with the AAPE, BAPE BLACK, BAPY and APEE sub-labels to amass a 100-outfit exhibit that was topped off with appearances from Lil’ Baby and Coi Leray.

After 30 years of delivering the freshest of garments all across the globe, BAPE has undoubtedly mastered the use of its signature ABC camo, and similar to former brand affiliate Pharrell, the military-derived pattern was present throughout the entire collection.

The BAPE family’s Fall/ Winter 2023 showing covered all bases from wardrobe staples like denim and the camo-bound pieces we’re used to, with a strong suite of options for both genders and plenty of baggy, unisex styles featured across the vast selection of looks.

The collection was split into three staple themes: “SPORT MANIA,” “COLLEGE CLASSIC” and “DENIM PAINTER”.

Sport Mania acted as a homage to 90’s culture, covering pastel takes on the ABC camo and Bape’s very own monogram print that appeared on trucker and puffer jackets, purple denim sets and a weather-proof jacket and matching cargo pants.

The College Classic range was packed with formal styles that reimagined traditional school uniforms through the lens of Bape, yielding button up jackets, a hefty leather letterman, one oversized corduroy suit and colourful knitwear and fleeces.

Finally, as the name suggests, the Denim Painter capsule was comprised of oversized denim and utilitarian pieces, with more of the usual BAPe iconography plastered across the oversized assortment.

Alongside the trio of aesthetics, BAPE unleashed a gang of nostalgic full-zip Shark-motif hoodied to show that the brand still honours its roots, even after thirty years of streetwear supremacy.

Finally, Lil’ Baby and Coi Leray took to the stage to perform some of their hit tracks, all while decked out in Bape gear.
