Coming in at the right time to remind us they’re still an executive-level force in the gorp world, Beams and Arc’teryx has announced a fresh lineup of outdoor gear for the FW24 season.
Dating all the way back to 2001, when Arc’teryx’s main customer base were weekend warriors and only the knowingest of streetwear enjoyers donned the dead bird, the partnership between Japan’s retail staple and the Canadian outdoor brand has been around long before “gorp core” was a recognised term in the fashion lexicon.

Just as mercurial as the Gore-Tex textiles that Arc’teryx uses, recent BEAMS-exclusive drops have opted for clean colourings, complete with tasteful branding and the usual high performance DNA from Arc’teryx, materialised across star sellers like the Beta and Atom Jackets, alongside tough-wearing accessories.
The capsule brings about options for both men and women, alongside Mantis back and waist packs that all continue the Patchwork directive apparent in past releases, although with updated, neutral tones that are inspired by traditional Japanese ideals of balance and harmony, otherwise known as Nagomi.
This latest endeavour also signifies the first edition of the Arc’teryx x Beams Squamish Hoody - an ultra lightweight performance windbreaker that BEAMS has blessed with autumnal shades of brown and off-white, finished with the same, gradient dead-bird branding that features on the adjoining pieces.
Coinciding with its dead-bird brother, the Beta’s waterproof capabilities are made even ‘drippier’ with updated patchwork stylings, an enlarged shoulder logo and all the trimmings of a functional outdoor companion.

The latest Arc’teryx x BEAMS collaboration will be available in limited quantities via Beams Japan on September 8th, with a global release through Arc’teryx taking place on September 25th.
