Few kicks are as classic as the Nike Air Max 97, and the "Silver" and "Gold Bullet" colorways might just be the best of the bunch. First released in 1997 (hence the numerical similarity), its wavy design is meant to mimic the appearance of Japanese bullet trains. Although the silver version is expected to return later this year, rumors have surfaced that the gold iteration might grace our feet in 2023.
Last released in 2018, the Air Max 97 "Gold Bullet" features a “Metallic Gold” leather upper with 3M mesh accents rushing through its wavy design lines. Mesh tongues don tonal laces, while vibrant red Nike Swooshes sit atop a black circular emblem.
The profiles are detailed with mesh windows, featuring centered Swooshes on both sides of each shoe. Black cotton liners are complemented by matching pull tabs that dress the tongues, while ones at the back see Air Max lettering in a metallic finish. Rounding out the design are white midsoles with undivided golden Air units that run through the entire length of the bottoms and black rubber outsoles.
The Air Max 97 "Gold Bullet" is expected to release in the summertime of 2023 for a retail price of $185.
