Time after time, Teddy Santis proves his exquisite taste level, whether through palatable collections from ALD, mastermindery of New Balance’s Made in USA line or in this case, his latest project with Porsche.
The Swabian automobile-extraordinaries have long pursued the mission of creating the perfect driving machine and as a company, only get better with age and wisdom - only recently branching out into the world of collaboration, working with Rimowa and now for the fourth time, Aimé Leon Dore.
Aimé Leon Dore and Porsche previously collaborated on the 356, 911SC and 964 models, now turning to an icon of 1980’s luxury automobilia that acts as the centrepiece of a Tarantino-esque campaign.
Part one of ALD’s DOUBLEMINT short film premiered alongside its SS24 season opening in February and gave a glimpse at numerous big ticket items from the collection, including the coveted Vanson leather jacket, a handful of the vintage timepieces from Patek Philippe plus the unreleased black & gold Rimowa suitcase collaboration.
The video starred Khorey and Tory McDonald, twin models of choice for ALD’s lauded lookbooks, alongside NYC legend Action Bronson, who plays a caricature “fixer” role, appearing once again in part two.
Stealing the spotlight in part 2 of DOUBLEMINT is a custom Porsche 944 Turbo that not unlike ALD’s previous transatlantic projects, oozes pure steeze.

The red bodywork is highlighted by 80’s-incarnate gold livery that matches the retro rims. Inside, we see brown leather and suede covering the seats, dashboard and steering wheel, offset by what looks to be casentino wool panelling on the doors.
Akin to previous projects from ALD x Porsche, we will also be treated to a selection of special branded apparel that will release at some point this season.

The Aimé Leon Dore x Porsche 944 Turbo is currently on display at ALD’s renovated 224 Mulberry Street, NYC Outpost.
