Aimé Leon Dore’s Autumn/ Winter ‘23 collection is now live and to say the brand has taken inspiration from Ralph Lauren is an understatement.

ALD has willingly dwelled in the shadow of Ralph Lauren for years, with founder Teddy Santis holding correspondence with the godfather of Americana and openly admitting his love for the brand and how ALD takes notes from Ralph without wanting to be seen as tribute act.

In this latest collection, ALD’s penchant for mixing tracksuits with topcoats, suit pants with sportswear and big jackets with bucket hats only continues to impress…
The loudest piece from the lookbook is the red faux fur work jacket (that will likely come with an even louder price tag), paired here with a bold houndstooth knit, matching cap and trio of pendants.
Casual luxury continues with a cable knit balaclava and a sport jacket layered with a ribbed cardigan and polo shirt, bestowed with a further touch of country club-core through ALD’s signature crest-stitched sweatpants.
Suiting plays a large role in the look-book as a whole, encompassing the overall/ blazer combination, the corduroy two piece covered by a heavy camo parka and of course, the respective Peaky Blinders and James Bond cosplay options.
More casual styles include ALD’s various takes on classic sportswear tops and jerseys, tipping the woollen hat to New York street style, resulting in archetypal pieces infused with a refined twist that seamlessly integrates the brand’s inimitable identity with its beloved home state.
Finally, alongside the core selection of Unisphere tees, sweats and caps, the knitwear section is filled with bold and reserved styles alike, again calling back to Ralph Lauren with the Buddy Sweater, that instead of its ancestral bear, shows a fluffy doggo sporting a bandana.
