Last year, adidas and many other big brands parted ways with Kanye West after the rapper/ mogul went on a public tirade against Jewish people, following months of tumultuous relations between Mr. West and adidas.
Kanye’s antisemitic rants acted as a boiling point for adidas, giving them the reason they needed to part ways with Ye, resulting in the disbandment of the adidas x Yeezy era, leaving behind over $500 million dollars worth of unsold stock and one *very* unhappy Kanye.

At the time, adidas released the following statement:

“After a thorough review, the company has taken the decision to terminate the partnership with Ye immediately, end production of Yeezy branded products and stop all payments to Ye and his companies. adidas will stop the adidas Yeezy business with immediate effect. adidas is the sole owner of all design rights to existing products as well as previous and new colorways under the partnership.”

Just under five months after the official termination of the Yeezy brand, reports are now circulating that adidas and Ye’s team have reached an agreement to sell the previously mentioned $500 million USD in stock, minus the Yeezy signatures, with no more new designs to be produced again - however this would only make half a dent in the reported $1.3 billion USD that adidas lost over the Yeezy fiasco.

An official announcement is yet to be publicised by adidas, although expect more information to surface soon.
