James Whitner and his team at The Whitaker Group have played a defining role in sneaker and streetwear culture for over a decade - largely thanks to the conglomerate’s flagship entity A Ma Maniére that’s responsible for some of the most sought after Jordan collaborations to ever release.

After dominating the court with sell-out works on the Jordan 3, 4 and 12 (to name a few), AMM is shifting gears to more classical sports footwear, tapping the timeless qualities of Converse and the ubiquitously recognisable flair of Nike for its latest Swoosh-oriented project.
Currently limited to just 100 friends & family pairs, the AMM x Converse Chuck 70 is the latest instalment in the firm’s “While you were sleeping” series and akin to their most recent, women’s-exclusive Air Jordan 3, the hi-top model adopts a muted base with black highlights - namely the enlarged embroidered swoosh that takes up the entire lateral side.

Despite the fact Converse has been owned by Nike since 2003, it’s an exceedingly rare occasion that the swoosh appears on stripped-back canvas plimsoles but when paired with a nostalgic tongue tag and metal eyelets, the design is abound with vintage sportswear vibes and speaks to the objective of A Ma Maniere’s “While you were sleeping series” that aims to spotlight some of the most important releases from the storied annals of Nike, Converse and Jordan.

It is currently unknown whether the shoe will receive a public release.
