Supreme x Y’s by Yohji Yamamoto Reveal Punk-Inclined Collaboration for Fall Winter 25

Supreme has announced its first collaboration with Yohji Yamamoto in over three years, working with the designer’s oldest and most influential label: Y’s by Yohji Yamamoto.
Since its inception in 1972, Y’s has taken on various forms, blossoming from a men’s-coded, women’s-exclusive line shaped by Yamamoto’s early years in his mother’s dressmaking shop into a platform for the designer’s longstanding fascination with punk-adjacent tropes — here aligning with Supreme on a hellishly inclined array of street-centric goods.
Silhouette-wise, Yohji and Supreme channel their shared vision for oversized functionality, mixing in singular statement pieces which are underscored by a provocative edge that’s brought to life courtesy of artists Maggie Lee and Joe Chatt.
The brands enlisted Chatt for his “neo-Japanese traditional” tattoo style, which courses through the collection with a horror-informed flash sheet of graphics, spanning skull-bound leather and denim jackets, trousers, hoodies, and tees.
Chatt also leaves his mark on Silk Shirts adorned with middle finger-flipping grim reapers, Spider Longsleeve Tees, and Grommet 6-Panel Caps, the latter of which offers the clearest view of the artist’s rendition of the collaborative branding.
The avant-garde side of Yamamoto’s design language surfaces in the Faux Fur Hooded Bomber Jacket, which is available in black or bloody red and equipped with a Gore-Tex Windstopper lining.
In keeping with the punk aesthetic, the brands deliver a grungy pair of Utility Pants in black or washed denim, alongside “666” Sweaters, “bone-link” Wallet Chains produced by London’s The Great Frog, and a handmade Japanese fan illustrated with imagery reminiscent of the CCP.
The Supreme x Y’s by Yohji Yamamoto collection drops Thursday, September 11, via Supreme’s website and physical locations.
An Asia release follows on Saturday, September 13.
