For its third outing of the Winter 25 season, Palace presents one of its most graphic-heavy drops in some time, deploying variations on the Tri-Ferg emblem, amongst nostalgic nods and whimsical tropes across a fresh input of tees, jerseys, sweats and caps.
Considering the Millennial-aged management behind the Palace skate team, it comes as no surprise when the brand’s graphic designs take a turn towards the nostalgic codes of pre-social media culture — coming to life via polygonal imagery on the 09 Tri-Ferg tee, which is joined by a homage to the leading cellphone manufacturer of the Y2K era on the Top Up tee.
The brand image borrowing doesn’t stop there, as Palace plays on the iconic FedEx logo on the Shut Up tee, while flexing its whimsical muscles in a meta sense on the Surprisingly Longsleeve (longsleeve) t-shirt, which adds an extra length of grey marl jersey to standard, varsity-inspired Palace fare.
More instances of clever Palace wordplay are evident throughout the Phantasy range of jerseys, tracksuits and 2-in-1 Gaiter Beanies. Sticking with its usual “home, away & third-kit” formula, the headgear and jerseys use an all-over design reminiscent of fantastical, borderline-gothic artwork — contrasting against the printed graphics referencing familiar Palace phrases, such as “1 Truth”, “4 Ever”, and “9 Danke”.
The matching Shell Jackets and Joggers forgo the striking imagery in favour of clean colour-blocking and straightforward functionality.
Akin to how themes from the golden age of London street culture are forever present in Palace’s collections, in recent seasons, the brand has also committed to honouring the various backgrounds and cultures that make up its reputation as London’s embassy for the coolest skaters from across the globe. This week, the brand has set aside commemorative t-shirts for each of its eight retail locations, shouting out its London flagship and respective outposts in the United States, Japan, and South Korea.
Conversely, Palace literally tips its cap to European countries the brand is yet to bless with a retail presence on the flag-bearing selection of Union 6-panel caps, which respectively honour Ireland, France, Italy, and Scotland.
This week’s drop closes out with six new colours of the staple Palace Tri-Ferg hoodie.
Palace Skateboards’ Winter 25 Week 3 release goes live this Friday, October 17 at 11:00 am BST, available via the brand’s website and retail locations across the globe.
