Ronnie Fieg is bringing together two of his favourite shoemakers in his latest high-profile collaboration, making the most of the crossover formal-sneaker trend before it returns to cyclical hibernation by meshing two icons of Clarks and adidas’ respective catalogues.

Falling under Clarks’ 8th Street by Ronnie Fieg division, the latest project from the English footwear brand and Kith’s founder reintroduces adidas into the fold, marking the fifth project so far from the three entities and their first since December 2024.

Every 8th Street release involving adidas so far has followed the formula of traditional three-stripe uppers spliced with Clarks’ synonymous crepe soling, however for their latest trick, Fieg is literally flipping the script and instead choosing to place the upper of Clarks’ most iconic model atop athletic-focused, bouncy units of adidas’ Ultraboost and 4D technologies.

Spread over six colour and sole combinations, the 8th Street Wallabee is presented in seasonal shades of “Scarab”, “Chestnut”, “Maple”, and “Dark Grey” suede, each fixed on a contrasting sole unit, aside from the black pairs, which feature tonal Ultraboost soles and “fiegboost” heel cages.

Fieg shared that the conversations surrounding the project began in 2021, when he first floated the idea to Clarks and adidas, who much like Fieg, were only on board if the 8th Street Wallabee was done right. The result was a three-year sample process that required a reshaping of the Wallabee’s last to suit adidas’ sole units while still retaining its sought-after upper proportions.

According to Fieg, the collaboration was “a very unlikely scenario that ended up happening” — which is why the Kith head honcho proclaimed the Clarks x adidas 8th Street Wallabee as his “favourite project”. Cementing the elite status of the release, Kith tapped rap legends and fellow Wallabee diehards Ghostface Killah and Raekwon as models for the campaign.

Priced between $210 & $250 USD, the 8th St Wallabee by Ronnie Fieg for adidas Originals & Clarks Originals drops today, Monday, October 27 via the Kith website.
