Aimé Leon Dore is reconnecting with Porsche on a new apparel capsule for FW25, masterfully applying the Swabian badge of automobile excellence to a classy range of motor-inspired gear.
With no special-order 993 Turbo or 911 Super Carrera to accompany the release, the latest link-up between Aimé Leon Dore and Porsche is purely focused on reviving what ALD calls “archival Porsche apparel” — honing in on heavy outerwear, considered team accessories, and sportswear examples that show just the right amounts of branding.
Known for championing 90s NYC steeze under the guise of contemporary codes, Aimé Leon Dore was taking notes from the luxury aura of entities like Porsche long before the two consummated their partnership, meaning the capsule’s palette of “jet black”, “tango red”, “pine grove”, and “aspen gold” is both familiar to ALD disciples while staying faithful to the house colours of Porsche.
Leading the lineup is the GORE-TEX Cabrio Jacket — a technical take on the “car coat” that’s rife with plenty of storage options, oversized snap-button closures and tasteful branding notes at the chest and rear.
The rest of the capsule comprises nylon and heavyweight cotton tracksuit options, alongside sporty panelled tees and polo shirts that evoke the best parts of pit crew couture. Graphic tees make up a small portion of the capsule, striking a balance between artistic and logo-slapped imaginings of both firms’ branding deck.
Accessories include a healthy array of co-branded caps and beanies, alongside Wool Racing Scarves, Silk Bandanas, Leather Driving Gloves, and bags offered in both simple canvas and handcrafted, Italian nylon & leather fabrications.
Garnishing the collection is a choice of five, custom enamel Grille Badges that respectively display artistic renditions of each of the vehicles featured in Aimé Leon Dore’s collaborations with Porsche so far.
The latest Aimé Leon Dore x Porsche collaboration drops tomorrow, Friday, October 17 via the ALD website and physical stores at 11:00 am EST.
